Introduction


I first encountered the name Aleister Crowley not in a library, but in music.

Through the voice of Ozzy Osbourne.
Through the mystique surrounding Led Zeppelin.

Later, I found a strange and colorful book in a bookstore.
It was intimidating, mysterious, and impossible to ignore.

I bought it.

I don’t remember the exact words written on the obi anymore.
But I remember the feeling −
that this was not an ordinary book.

Who Was Aleister Crowley?

Aleister Crowley (1875–1947) was not a musician.
He was an occultist, writer, and controversial thinker.

Yet his influence can be heard throughout modern music.

His philosophy centered on the idea of True Will −
the belief that each person has a unique purpose,
and that life becomes meaningful when one discovers and follows it.
