Mode Automatic was the music project that laid the foundation for Velvet Ashes.
Active between 2021 and 2023, the project explored various styles of industrial and gothic rock through a series of releases and collaborations.
Many of the musical ideas developed during this period later evolved into the sound of Velvet Ashes.
2022年初頭に「IWAI」がVoの『Chaos』という1stアルバムをリリース。
全国バンド図鑑にも掲載頂いて、コンピレーションCDで
「123456789」を入れてもらったり、全国バンド図鑑自体は
「ヴレッジ・バンガード」で配布してもらったり、
ラジオ番組で取り上げてもらったりとかそんな動きをしてた。
2022年からは、ロンドンと日本では実際に活動がやりにくいという事もあり、
別のボーカリスト探しが始まった。
とりあえず、知人に参加してもらいカバー曲をやったりしていたのがこの年
ようするに試行錯誤していたんだよね。
そんな中で、出会ったのが「Khan」さんだった。
声の質とか、歌い方とか非常に、個性があって神秘的な要素もある
ように感じた。どちらかと言えば、彼女のイメージに合わせて
作った曲が以下の3曲だったりするし、自分でも非常に気に入っている。
但し、1st「Chaos」とも路線が変化しつつも
重厚な路線の曲もありながら、とりあえず出来た曲をリリースし続けた。
2枚目－7枚目のアルバムは、様々なバリエーションの曲が入っていて

2023年初頭に7枚目アルバム「Satisfy」をリリース後、一旦活動を中止。
2026年1月『Chaos-1919』を音楽配信サービスにて配信開始。
